Frequent night and weekend work is required.

Job Description Overview
The Production Manager is responsible for technical planning and production of the ZACC Show Room events, including live music shows, theatre, comedy, dance, film, and private rentals. The Production Manager represents the ZACC in a professional manner with whom they encounter and plays a crucial role in providing the best possible experience for the performers and the audience attending each event. This position requires strong multi-tasking skills, high level of attention to detail, and excellent organization, and interpersonal skills. The Production Manager is responsible for organizing showroom equipment and setting standard protocols for maintaining equipment and the cleanliness of the overall show room and backstage space.
This position is responsible for training part-time production assistants. The Production manager is a team player and works directly with their main supervisor (Program Director), and the Venue Manager.
Managerial Duties Assigned:
- Schedule part-time or contracted staff for productions
- Order supplies and equipment when needed and approved by the Program Director.
- On-site building and equipment maintenance.
- Keep a clean and safe environment.
- When taking the lead on booking a performance, work with the Development Director to provide all marketing materials needed for promotions.
- Train production staff in relevant competencies, including live audio mixing, in accordance with the ZACC Show Room policies and procedures.
- Ensures all tech staff are prepared to handle tasks at hand.
- Schedules and leads training sessions as needed.
- Attendees monthly all-staff meetings.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
Areas of Responsibility: Production Management
- On-site event production management:
- Staging
- Textiles
- Projection
- Backline (Procurement and/or Relocation, when applicable)
- Lighting Design and Maintenance
- Sound Engineering
- Engages in advanced technical set-up when needed and ensures that all staff are fully equipped for tasks at hand.
- Assists Venue Manager in general event set-up when needed.
- Communicates production needs effectively, including ZACC Program Director, performers, booking agents, ZACC Venue Manager, Development Director, and Operations Manager when needed.
- Secures the ZACC Show Room and Building following all events, in coordination with Venue Manager and other applicable staff.
Production Planning:
- Assists with Booking performances in accordance with the ZACC’s mission and goals for representation, accessibility, and equity.
- Engages professionally and in a timely fashion with performers, agents, and renters regarding production needs and handles technical advance/run of show information for all ZACC performances.
- Coordinates load in and load out for each performance, ensuring proper staffing.
- Maintains and organizes production equipment to meet the needs of performers, audience members, and renters.
- Proposes repair or purchase of new Show Room equipment as needed.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience with sound and music production.
- Associates/Trade degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience working in a team-based environment.
- Managerial experience is a plus.
Job Environment and Working Conditions:
- This position involves frequent lifting, moving, and positioning of stage pieces and equipment, sometimes exceeding 75 lbs.
- Ladder use is required for some Show Room maintenance and upkeep duties.
- Show nights may involve prolonged standing and walking, often in areas of reduced lighting with potential trip hazards.
- Use of a computer and Microsoft Office required for technical advance communications.
- Knowledge of applicable safety standards and procedures for live event production are required.

AMERICORP CLASSROOM ASSISTANT
The ZACC is recruiting visual art and rock camp assistant instructors through the AmeriCorps Vista Summer Associate Program! These community service oriented positions designed around the ZACC’s arts-based summer programming for Missoula kids. The Summer Associates who join the ZACC for 11 weeks of summer camps this year will assist camp instructors in the classroom and music studio through art and music lessons in a variety of mediums. The visual arts and rock camp positions are separate but may intersect. Both areas are full-time, 40-hour-a-week community service positions from approximately 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. The term of service begins on June 3rd and ends on August 12th. While the Summer Associate will be working on-site at the ZACC, the position is funded through AmeriCorps and comes with the following benefits:
- A living stipend of $2,823.00
- An AmeriCorps Education Award of $1,459.26 to repay qualified student loans or to pay current educational expenses at eligible institutions of higher education and training programs.
