Rent a Space

THE SHOW ROOM

ABOUT THE SHOW ROOM

The ZACC Show Room is located in the heart of downtown Missoula in the beautiful, historic Studebaker Building, and can house a maximum of 150 seated and 350 standing. Adjacent to the Show Room is the Blackfoot Gallery & Lounge, which can be booked in addition to the theatre for events requiring extra, separate space.

The name of our event center harkens back to the building's original use as an automobile garage and showroom. The Studebaker Building is listed on the National Historic Registry, and served a growing automobile industry from the 1920s through the 1950s, when its owner Louis Nybo sold and repaired Studebakers here — the then vehicle of choice for Missoula's police force.

SHOW ROOM AMENITIES

Our event center boasts 150 chairs, 20 rectangular 72" banquet tables, twelve 30" round wooden-top cocktail tables (which adjust in height), an adjustable theatre lighting system, a state-of-the-art sound system, backdrop and blackout curtains, a 5,000-lumen projector and 9' by 16' mechanical screen, a removable stage, a backstage area with access to the kitchen and upstairs bathrooms, with public access bathrooms and an interactive play space just outside the entrance. The Show Room holds a beer, wine, and cider non-profit service license, and events in the Show Room serving alcohol are catered to by trained and certified ZACC bartenders.

The Show Room is available to rent for private events, for use by non-profits, and for festival events requiring passes.

Performances in the Show Room are exclusively booked by the ZACC. To inquire about booking a show in the ZACC Show Room, please go to Book a Show.

The ZACC does not stock linens. If your event requires tablecloths or other linens we recommend renting from Missoula Textile Services.

The ZACC's kitchen is not commercial, and foods served to the public must be prepared offsite (though our kitchen is perfect for discreet food service prep/set-up and for keeping foods hot or cold). For great local catering, we recommend Biga Pizza, Masala, Bravo! Catering, and Burns St. Bistro.

If you have questions, please email Gallery and Venue Director Mikyla Veis, at mikyla@zootownarts.org.

Below are some examples of room layout, but they are by no means exhaustive. We work with you to arrange the space in the way best suited to your event.

“In one performance, California-born, New York-based vocalist Shayna Steele unleashed enough voltage to light up the West End.” — London Jazz News

One of the greatest singing sensations of our time, known from recordings with Snarky Puppy and Moby and a host of other stars, Shayna Steele takes flight on her third album, “Watch Me Fly”. Offering six self-penned originals and four select classics ranging from Soul via Blues and Gospel and easily crossing over to retro R&B and Jazz, showcasing Shayna Steele’s supremely soulful energy, as well as her mind blowing vocal artistry and songwriting skills.

“I am outrageous, larger than life” are the first words on Shayna Steele’s new album. The few notes she sings to voice them in the aptly named song “Be” already make it clear that this is not braggadocio, but a fact. The singer, born in California and raised in Mississippi, who as a self-proclaimed “American Air Force brat” grew up all over the world, but lives and thrives in New York, not only has a charismatic, charming and truly unique voice, but also plenty of technique and the vocal strength of a volcano. Shayna has performed with the likes of Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Bette Midler and Steely Dan as a sought after background vocalist. Shayna made the decision that being in the background was not an option anymore and has been touring regularly as a featured vocalist with Grammy Award winning trumpeter, Chris Botti, was a featured vocalist on Snarky Puppy’s “Family Dinner” and reached #1 on the Dance Billboard charts as a featured vocalist on Moby’s “Disco Lies.” Saying Shayna is ready to step out on her own would be a major understatement.

Maria Zepeda lives to express through creation. Whether that is through song, advocacy, community, or connection, she expresses with a loving passion that encourages others to find their loving passion too. Her larger than life presence invites you to take a closer look at the ways we can live in love for ourselves, each other, and our planet. Maria’s sound has been compared to the likes of Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, Halsey, Jewel and Brandi Carlile. Rich, powerful, smokey, and full of soulful emotion come through her curious being. Her lyrics come through her lived experience and at times, through the channeling of spirit singing through her. She sings because it connects her to the truth of her soul. She sings because singing lets her know she is alive. She sings in hopes that you will let it move you into your own beautiful becoming.
