Our classrooms are one of our greatest assets, and we constantly use them for Arts Education for youth and for adults. They are available to the public for rent when available. If want to teach an art class, we would be happy to partner with you, and there would be no need for you to rent a classroom.
CLASSROOM PERKS & SUPPLIES
People can expect to enjoy the following perks when they rent one of our classrooms: lightening fast wifi, white boards & markers, utility sink, presentation easels, comfortable chairs, and a large working tables.
Beginners Relief Print Making Class
Thursdays | March 31 through April 28 | 6-8 PM | $125
Block printing is a relief practice of printmaking that involves carving into a block or stamp that is then pressed onto paper or fabric using ink. This introductory five-week course will introduce students to fundamental linocut and woodcut block printing techniques and guide them through making their own original print editions.
If you are interested in taking this course but are uncomfortable with in-person instruction at this time, please contact Joe Kirk at the ZACC to discuss potential accommodations for digital participation.
MATERIALS NEEDED FOR COURSE
You should be able to find any of the following materials locally at the UM bookstore, but they will be substantially more expensive than they are from the online retailers linked below.
Carving Tools that would work for Wood and Linoleum:

Carving tools that will limit you to working with Linoleum but are much more budget friendly:

Carving Blocks:
If you have decided to purchase the more budget friendly speedy-cut linoleum cutter tool, then you will need to exclusively use linoleum and rubber blocks. If, however you decided on the flex-cut tools then you are free to choose any of the following. Regardless of what kind of block you decide upon you are going to want to have one 4x6 block for practicing cuts and at least one 8x10 block.
