"Every step, every breath, every thought, every word, every whisper or silence taken are prayers in action. They are an impasse to self discovery which is never smooth. We are all prayer warriors. The fearless messengers of creativity.

The art we create are not our own to claim. They are instead gifts from above, our creator. They flow like reels above our heads, they come as visions, as dreams, as inspiration. When we are ready we open our hearts to what we can do and reach for those we can create and share with the community, far and wide. However, when we are not ready to grasp for the images they go to another trusted creator. Whether we know it or not, we all create with purpose whether it be bringing them to print, sculpt, dance, write, speak, etc. Together we share the universal images/language to create a story from our own personal journey through life.”

– Dre Castillo, Artist and Indigenizing the ZACC Organizer
