ABOUT THE ART: KIM BROWN CAMPBELL
Sharon and I began this process in 2019 after she completed a series of intuitive paintings from photographs of the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia.  We both completed intuitive process pieces based on photographs of Granite and Comet Ghost Towns in Montana.  The intuitive process of painting entails letting go of outcomes and painting for the joy of painting and art making in general.  Having two artists complete paintings simultaneously and comparing similarities and differences is an exciting and novel process for us.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: KIM BROWN CAMPBELL
Kim Brown Campbell lives with her husband, Duncan, and two cats in Missoula, Montana. She holds a BA in painting and printmaking, an MA in art therapy, and a Doctorate in Counselor Education.

She enjoys many art forms including printmaking, painting, mixed media work, and building assemblages. Kim has worked as an art therapist in various settings since 1996 and in mental health since 1991.

ABOUT THE ART: SHARON VAN LANDINGHAM DAVIDSON
Inspiration, intuition and transformation are the themes that have evolved in my art. I came to art therapy during an illness that left me filled with anxiety and confusion over my then state of mental and physical health.

Working with art therapist, Dr. Kim Brown Campbell, has helped me work through those issues and discover that my creative experience and expression can best be served by an intuitive art process. I can freely create and feel joy in the process, letting go of expectations and looking to reveal with paint an experience or image that has inspired me.

The inner story brought to light by the process is at once gratifying and startling as layers of paint reeal a new image. I am grateful to have the opportunity to continue to explore this process of art making with the support of my art therapist and an art community that empowers me.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: SHARON VAN LANDINGHAM DAVIDSON
