Exhibiting in the Main Gallery through June

The ZACC is delighted to present ‘Imprint’ by Dagny Walton, Colton Rothwell, and Orion Bos in the Main Gallery throughout June. Works are available for purchase, and the artists will be present at the opening reception.

ABOUT THE ART
Imprint features the work of three queer Missoula-based artists, Colton Rothwell, Orion Bos, and Dagny Walton, all of whom chose to showcase varying forms of printmaking processes for their work in this show. Colton, principally a photographer, created cyanotype prints of his landscape photography. Orion carved and printed intricate, surreal woodblock prints inspired by the interplay between hurting and healing. Dagny screen-printed bright, popping designs inspired by the strange world of professional wrestling, where facade and reality occupy an uneasy space together.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS: COLTON ROTHWELL
Colton Rothwell (b. 1999, he/him) is a photographer and artist living and working in Missoula, Montana, USA. Born and raised in small towns throughout the Rocky Mountain West, his photographic practice reimagines the traditions of landscape photography to explore ideas around memory, desire, and the environment through a personal queer lens. Recently, he has been a recipient of Aperture and Google’s Creator Labs Photo Fund (2023), was an artist in residence at the Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta, CA, (2023), and an exhibited artist at the Hessel Museum of Art in NY (2024). He is a forthcoming MFA candidate in art at the University of Oregon.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS: ORION BOS
Orion Bos was born and raised in rural Montana. His work explores themes of memory, trauma, and evolution exhibited through large scale floral and figurative woodcut prints and sculpture. He has collaborated with several visiting artists through Matrix Press at the University of Montana in the creation of varying editions of prints. Orion has work in the Montana Museum of Art and Culture's permanent collection. He is currently finishing his BFA at the University of Montana.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS: DAGNY WALTON
Dagny Walton is an illustrator and printmaker. Her work broadly focuses on the idea of haunted Americana, the dark grunge of otherwise familiar American pop culture and symbolism. Originally from Colorado, she received her BA in Classical Studies from the University of British Columbia and her MFA in Fine Art from the University of Montana. She has also held the Laura Grace Barrett artist in residence at the Zootown Arts Community Center. Her work has been shown at the Cawein Gallery in Forest Grove, OR, the Brinton Museum in Big Horn, WY, the Yellowstone Art Museum in Billings, MT, and the Montana Museum of Art & Culture, Allez! Missoula, ZACC Gallery, and Radius Gallery in Missoula, MT, among others.
