SG Modern Jazz Project
Wednesday, August 11 // Doors at 7 PM // Show at 7:30 PM // $10 per ticket, in advance or at the door
The SG Modern Jazz Project formed for Jazzoula 2019 and was meant to be a fun one-time project. But the positive public response at Jazzoula pushed them to get back together, and present another (longer) concert which took place at the ZACC in early 2020 before the pandemic sent everybody home. They are excited to be back at the ZACC for their return performance. The Project performs works in kind with the Breckers Brothers, Grover Washington, and Jeff Lorber. With songs by Basia, Roy Ayers, and a few standards thrown into the mix. With Troy Bashor on drums, Mike Johns (MCPS Orchestra teacher at Meadow Hill) on bass, DR Halsell on guitar, Dylan Dwyer (Shakewell) on saxophone, Jeff Stickney on trumpet, Meghan Morris (The Shivers) on vocals, and Stephane Gariepy (Cirque Du Soleil musician) as band leader and on keyboards and arrangements.
