Aaron Jennings really knows how to spin a yarn, in both song form and earnest stage banter, recounting tales of cowboys, immigrants and the history of yodeling. You might not know it at this very moment, but you definitely need more yodeling in your life. Joining the troubadour Jennings & Company is relative newcomers to the Missoula music scene, The Recession Special, whose acoustic-driven songs bring to mind the promise of adventure inherent in travel by rail and long conversations with strangers. Rounding out the evening are the The Pettifoggers, a newly-minted indie-folk trio who play ruggedly wistful songs full of heartfelt lyrics and melodies guaranteed to stick with you.
