Students will investigate the ways we tell and understand stories through art and visual culture. We will explore various examples from art history and and contemporary art, studying pose, gesture, symbolism and more! In three sessions, students will create ceramic sculptures that tell meaninful stories.

In this camp, students will explore the vast world of maps! Students will investigate how artists and mapmakers throughout history and different cultures make sense of the world through graphic representation. They will make their own personal maps of things important to them, both real and imaginary, and will learn and develop a number of different art making skills and processes.

Hooray for clay! Students in this after-school camp can expect to get their hands dirty as they work with clay to gain a basic understanding handbuilt ceramics. They will produce wares and sculptures that explore personal and contemporary art themes.
