Come join ZACC Staff and create holiday crafts to be raffled of during The Festival of Trees! The public will be able to view these items during the Tour of Trees, the Teddy Bear Teas and the Holiday Soiree, all of which will be held in the “Enchanted Forest” that your items will play a part in creating. This category is varied: we encourage creative use of trees and other items - including decorated 3 foot trees, wreaths, garlands, décor, artwork, furniture...and more.
This one day workshop is designed to give artists a hands on introduction to the encaustic process. A one-hour demonstration is followed by independent work time, giving participants a chance to experiment with the paint and tools. this class is ideal for artists who are curious about encaustic but don't have any previous experience. The topics covered will include: health and safety; what encaustic is; how to get started; and the most popular techniques and applications.
This dynamic five-week class is the perfect introduction and further discovery into the world of screen-printing! Learn the fundamentals of screening on paper and fabric. After this class students will have the proficiency and confidence to coat and expose screens, register their artwork and print to their satisfaction, all while leaving with vibrant prints.
Ready to learn how to fuse glass? Glass Fusing uses the process of binding and slumping glass in order to create dynamic, durable pieces of artwork. Bring a friend or a date and learn from the staff at ZACC the basic techniques of fusing glass and create something beautiful.
Art journaling is a wonderful tool for developing a mindfulness practice. In this course you will be led into the fantastic world that brings together your intrinsic creativity with the practice of mindfulness. With the use of guided meditation and journaling prompts you will gain insights into your deeper self. This is a great course for anyone either looking to expand their mindful practice or just dipping their toes and need a creative outlet.
Liberace up your holidays with this special DIY Holiday class taught by ZACC teacher and ceramic artist, Karlene Kantner. Participants will make multi-candle holders out of clay and will be encouraged to be as creative, gaudy, or as simple as they want to.
