As a community center dedicated to providing enriching all-ages art education and experiences, we're very lucky to be able to work with such talented local artists. These artists provide a wide range of expertise, allowing the ZACC to offer a number of classes in a variety of media. Our "Teacher's Showcase" gallery event gives students and community members alike the opportunity to learn more about an artistic medium by exploring it's use in works created by a ZACC instructor.
The featured instructor for March is Amber Whitenburg. Amber is a kooky and zany gal from Ohio who has a passion for facilitating creative and constructive expression amongst children and adults. She is knowledgable in practices ranging from Jewelry Making to Metal Smithing, Bookmaking, Resin Casting, Glassblowing, Metal Casting, Printmaking, Sculpture, and various "Kid Crafts". Her art is inspired by dreams, the importance of self-reflection, repurposing materials, bringing light to the world through glow-in-the-dark, and spreading kid-like joy.
Join us at the Zootown Arts Community Center for the gallery opening of the Mini Benefit Show on Friday, March 9 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend, please stop by during our open hours, 11 am to 6pm, Monday through Saturday, as the pieces will be on display for the entire month.
